Maryland abortion legalize murdering babies infanticide

Maryland: Forget about abortion, let’s legalize murdering babies after they’re born

As America waits for the Supreme Court’s ruling in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization Mississippi, a case that talking heads on both sides of the political aisle claim could end Roe v. Wade, legislators in the state of Maryland are preparing to not only guarantee access to abortion anytime, anywhere, for any reason, but they are also making plans to legalize murdering babies after they are born.

So much for the “it’s not a person” rhetoric usually spewed by the abortion industry (via LifeNews.com):

The Pregnant Person’s Freedom Act of 2022, in addition to perpetuating the delusion that “persons” other than women can conceive and carry a child, includes the following ominous admonition:

“This section may not be construed to authorize any form of investigation or penalty for a person: … experiencing a miscarriage, perinatal death related to a failure to act, or stillbirth.”

Perinatal death related to a failure to act,” is the most menacing line in this terrible bill. Perinatal is an imprecise word with many interpretations. The World Health Organization defines it as the period between 23 weeks’ gestation and seven days after birth. Other bodies say the perinatal period ends 28 days after birth. This is no place for the word fetus. This is a child, born alive and possessing every right that you and I enjoy.

But some Democrats in Maryland want to end that protection for vulnerable newborns, first by saying they can be killed by a “failure to act,” — for instance, withholding medical care, or nourishment, or a blanket — and then spelling out that neither the “person” who has the baby nor anyone who helps her can be subject to criminal or civil charges. Further, anyone who attempts to prosecute the pregnant person or her accomplice can be sued for damages.

A baby born alive, after an abortion or during a regular delivery, can be allowed to die within the first days of his or her life, possibly as long as 28 days, and no one will ever be charged with murder because, as the bill also states, “Nothing in this section shall be construed to confer personhood or any rights on the fetus.” (emphasis mine)

Maybe the Maryland legislature should call the bill “The Kermit Gosnell Act” in honor of the abortionist currently serving a life sentence with no chance of parole for routinely murdering babies by severing their spinal cords with scissors through the back of the neck or drowning them in toilets after being born alive.

The Pregnant Person’s Freedom Act isn’t “birth control,” and it has nothing to do with “women’s health.” It is simply codifying the legalized murder of babies up to 28 days old!

How long has the pro-abortion crowd been fighting the “born alive” legislation we see repeatedly rolled out by the Republican Party when they pretend to defend life every election season? While such legislation is nothing but political pandering, pro-abortion extremists always tell us that such legislation is unnecessary.

In the Dobbs v. Jackson case, the Supreme Court was focused on answering the question on “whether all pre-viability prohibitions on elective abortions are unconstitutional.” In other words, SCOTUS will decide when an unborn baby can be murdered, not whether or not abortion is illegal.

However, Maryland’s Pregnant Person’s Freedom Act of 2022 makes the court’s ruling irrelevant for babies born and unborn in that state.

By the way, “pre-viability” is a politically correct word often used by pro-abortionists to rationalize the murder of an unborn baby based on the child’s ability to live outside the womb. Unfortunately, this has been adopted by the Supreme Court and the anti-abortion groups we call “Pro-Life, Inc.” to rationalize their faux defense of life in the name of “incrementalism.”

Pro-life incrementalism — the compromising belief that saving “some” babies is better than saving “none” — has always been an ineffective strategy to end abortion because it still allowed millions of unborn babies to be murdered, and it made it easier for Pro-Life, Inc. to feel good about itself while doing nothing to end it.

This game of footsie with abortion, along with a Republican Party that never had any intention of ending it, allowed the conscience of a generation to be seared to the point that protecting life became secondary to finding ways to profit from it financially and politically.

Joe Biden is fully committed to making abortion without limits the law of the land, and fellow Democrats (along with a few Republicans) have been working hand-in-hand to codify Roe v. Wade using the Women’s Health Protection Act (WHPA), a law that will override the ability for the states to place limits on abortion if it becomes law.

“Our rights shouldn’t depend on what state we live in at the time,” U.S. Representatives Judy Chu, a California Democrat, told reporters in a briefing on WHPA. “Today the fight to protect abortion rights for all Americans is more critical than ever.”

The legislation aims to ultimately outlaw state-level restrictions that have been put on abortion access — largely across the South and the Midwest — and it is being promoted ahead of the SCOTUS ruling on Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health.

Could Washington legalize murdering babies after they’re born? Could be. Forced abortions and mass sterilization have been the official policy of the far-left ever since John Holdren served as Barack Obama’s Science Czar.

With the Supreme Court decision expected to be released a few months before the 2022 midterms, it should be noted that the Trumpist Republican Party is looking for an issue to hang its hat on. So, be on the lookout for Trump, McConnell, and McCarthy to add abortion to their reelection strategy — just as they have done every election for decades — including some faux outrage over the Maryland law.

Despite the rhetoric surrounding the SCOTUS ruling in the Mississippi abortion case, the “right” to murder an unborn baby will remain; the only difference being whether they protect it under the “stare decisis” understanding of Roe v. Wade, or if they protect it by ruling in favor of Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health.

None of this matters in the state of Maryland, however, because legislators there will protect abortion anytime, anywhere, for any reason, and they will legalize infanticide to allow babies to be murdered even after they are born.
