Obama’s response to Dallas? Gun control and a 21st Century Gestapo

Obama Nazi police

Following last week’s tragic murder of five Dallas Texas police officers and the wounding of seven more, Barack Obama took a few moments from his European vacation, disguised as a goodwill trip to the post-Brexit European Union, to fill us in on how he planned to leverage this tragedy to advance his fundamental transformation of America.

He began by attempting to disassociate the sniper, Micah Johnson, from radical groups such as Black Lives Matter. He claimed that Johnson’s actions should not be interpreted as a political statement on race relations because “It’s hard to untangle the motives of this shooter.”

Actually, his motives were quite clear. He was upset with the group Obama tried to disassociate him from, Black Lives Matter, and as a result he wanted to kill a lot of white police officers.

Obama then continued with one of his pat responses to such tragedies—more gun control.

“We also know that when people are armed with powerful weapons, unfortunately, it makes attacks like these more deadly and tragic, and in the days ahead we’re going to have to consider those realities as well.”

Maybe if we’re lucky, Obama will consider other realities such as his eight years’ worth of race-based politics that created this madness. Or better yet, he’ll call this a racially motivated hate crime. Yeah, right!

While it’s typical for the man who promised to bridge the racial divide to resort to gun control, it’s the statement that Obama made over the weekend that should concern America the most . . . a call to move forward with a plan launched last year to create a twenty-first century Gestapo by federalizing state and local police forces.

This idea has been brewing since the days following the death of Michael Brown in Ferguson, MO. Here’s a brief timeline:

  • August 2014. The Congressional Black Caucus writes a letter to Obama calling for the creation of a police czar to become a sort of national police chief.
  • December 2014. Obama creates a Task Force on Twenty-first Century policing whose primary recommendation was the federal control of all law enforcement.
  • March 2015. The DOJ selected six cities to participate in a pilot program which placed those cities under the direct control of the administration.
  • April 2015. The death of Freddie Gray in Baltimore, MD, and the riots that followed, created an opportunity for direct federal control of the Baltimore police. Convenient, considering that Baltimore Mayor, Stephanie Rawlins-Blake, served on Obama’s policing task force.
  • May 2015. Fresh off of the Baltimore riots, Al Sharpton calls for a march on Washington demanding that the DOJ take over control of the police nationwide.

Obama says he wants to “start moving on constructive actions that are actually going to make a difference.” Those actions, according to Obama, will come directly from the recommendations made by the Task Force on Twenty-first Century Policing.

Gun control and a new Gestapo. Two more ways we are becoming a post-constitutional America.
