Chicago mayor is engaging in anti-white racism to be more ‘inclusive’

Chicago mayor anti-white racism

Chicago mayor Lori Lightfoot is engaging anti-white racism because she says it will make her administration more “inclusive.”

On Wednesday, Lightfoot announced that her office would only be accepting interview requests from “black and brown journalists” as a matter of policy, according to a spokesman from her office.

Local political journalist Mary Ann Ahern sent out a tweet confirming the mayor’s anti-white racism. “As @chicagosmayor reaches her two year midway point as mayor, her spokeswoman says Lightfoot is granting 1 on 1 interviews-only to Black or Brown journalists,” she said.

In a series of tweets of her own, the Chicago mayor defended her anti-white racism and said in part:

“I ran [for mayor] to break up the status quo that was failing so many. That isn’t just in City Hall. It’s a shame that in 2021, the City Hall press corps is overwhelmingly White in a city where more than half of the city identifies as Black, Latino, AAPI or Native American.

“This is exactly why I’m being intentional about prioritizing media requests from POC reporters on the occasion of the two-year anniversary of my inauguration as mayor of this great city.

“We must be intentional about doing better.” (emphasis mine)

After receiving some well-deserved flack for her actions, Mayor Lightfoot took her defense of anti-white racism up a notch in a letter to the media where she not only complained about the “whiteness” of the media, but the “maleness” as well (via NationalReview.com):

Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot defended her policy of only accepting interview requests from “black and brown journalists” on Wednesday, arguing that it is made necessary by the “overwhelming whiteness and maleness” of the city’s media institutions.

The Democratic mayor sparked outrage after she announced she would not grant one-on-one interviews to white journalists on a temporary basis around the two-year anniversary of her election.

Lightfoot, the first black woman and first openly gay mayor in the city’s history, penned a two-page letter to the media in which she lauded her election for “breaking barriers” and blasted Chicago’s media organizations for not addressing their internal “institutionalized racism,” according to Fox News.

She claimed her decision was just the latest step in her lifelong fight for diversity and inclusion.

“In looking at the absence of diversity across the City Hall press corps and other newsrooms, sadly it does not appear that many of the media institutions in Chicago have caught on and truly have not embraced this moment,” she wrote. “I have been struck since my first day on the campaign trail back in 2018 by the overwhelming whiteness and maleness of Chicago media outlets, editorial boards, the political press corps, and yes, the City Hall press corps specifically.”

She said it is “unacceptable” that most reporters covering City Hall are white, particularly in light of the diversity of the city’s leadership.

“Many of them are smart and hard-working, savvy and skilled. But mostly white, nonetheless,” she wrote of the reporters. (emphasis mine)

Yeah, nothing fights “institutionalized racism” like anti-white racism. And what better way to create “diversity and inclusion” than eliminating diversity and inclusion by discriminating against a group of people based on their race and/or gender?

Fighting racism using anti-white racism has become an acceptable practice by the “critical race theory” crowd.

For example, critical race Theorist Ibram X. Kendi — Joe Biden wants Kendi’s teaching and the 1619 Project taught in public schools — believes the only remedy for the racism of the past is to create a new anti-white racism of the present and the future. And if you don’t agree, you’re a racist.

“The only remedy to racist discrimination is antiracist discrimination. The only remedy to past discrimination is present discrimination. The only remedy to present discrimination is future discrimination.” (emphasis mine)

In today’s “woke” America, Mayor Lightfoot’s anti-white racism is more the rule than it is the exception. In an article written a little over a year ago about “The New Racism,” Walter E. Williams described how it is becoming mainstream:

“Philip Carl Salzman wrote “The War Against White People” in Minding the Campus. He declared: “Anti-white hate is now mainstream American culture. Not just by racial extremists such as Black Lives Matter, for whom statements such as “all lives matter” or “blue lives matter” are racist. Our highest leaders sing the same song.”

The Chicago mayor is one of these “highest leaders” pushing anti-white racism.

In addition to being an ideology promoting anti-white racism, critical race theory has its roots in Marxism, which explains why it’s been embraced by Black Lives Matter. BLM co-founder Patrisse Cullers admits that she and her fellow organizers are “trained Marxists.”

Critical race theory served as the inspiration behind the death and destruction we witnessed during last summer’s riots. It also serves as the fuel behind the government-sanctioned, taxpayer-financed, anti-white racism reparations movement picking up steam at the hands of anti-white racists like Rep. Sheila Jackson-Lee, Black Lives Matter, and Biden’s ambassador to the United Nations, Linda Thomas-Greenfield.

Lightfoot concluded the letter by challenging media outlets to discriminate in their employment practices by hiring more women of color at their outlets and double check their coverage of her administration for examples of pro-white bias. If an outlet only had a white reporter covering City Hall, she suggested, “make sure there’s a person of color working with them as well.”

The Chicago mayor tried to shift the blame for her anti-white racism away from herself when she said that “Black and Brown community leaders” have voiced concern about biased media coverage but decided not to speak out for fear of being accused of playing the race card.

Those community leaders are right . . . it is playing the race card. A card Lightfoot knows how to play very, very well.
