Donald Trump 2024 election God's chosen God's judgment

Will a Donald Trump victory in 2024 release God’s judgment on America?

If Donald Trump wins the White House in 2024, could America find herself under God’s judgment?

While ungodly leaders and false prophets have existed throughout church history, the 1980’s in America have been recognized as a period of great shaking within the body of Christ because, as St. Peter tells us, God’s judgment always begins with God’s household. (1 Peter 4: 17)

The 1980’s brought numerous scandals to light involving several American evangelists, including such names as: Jim Bakker, Jimmy Swaggart, Peter Popoff and Robert Tilton.

Ever since the day Donald Trump rode down the golden escalator at Trump Tower in 2015 to announce his candidacy for the Republican presidential nomination, we repeatedly heard from so-called evangelicals that Donald Trump was raised up by God for such a time as this.

I initially rejected this assertion due to Trump’s blatant immorality, but a few weeks before the 2016 presidential election I wrote an article about how, perhaps, God had indeed raised Trump up, but not for the reason his supporters thought. Instead of being raised up to save America, Trump would be used to expose the compromising and immoral false prophets and false teachers I refer to as the Fellowship of the Pharisees, launch a great 1980s-styled shaking of the church, and release God’s judgment on America.

For example, in the aftermath of the Access Hollywood video scandal in 2016 where Trump was caught bragging about sexually assaulting women, members of the Fellowship not only excused his immoral behavior, but they also defended it by using — or I should say, misusing — God’s Word. In the scandals of the 1980’s, evangelical leaders defended their immoral behavior as well using God’s Word, particularly passages dealing with grace and forgiveness.

From their 2016 rejection of G-O-D in favor of the G-O-P to their declaration in 2020 that fealty to Trump was proof of faith in God, the dark heart of the Fellowship of the Pharisees has been fully exposed for all to see.

We read in scripture that this type of “shaking” almost always begins with the people of God as an opportunity to clean up corruption and purify their hearts, but it’s also used by God to serve as a clear warning of coming judgement on a nation’s leaders and the people who follow them.

Because God is just, he always warns us of coming judgment to give us an opportunity to escape it by his mercy. But if a nation refuses to heed his warning or fails to recognize it due to the deception and lies of false prophets and false teachers, the opportunity to escape is lost, and the consequences of the nation’s corruption are realized.

While biblically illiterate and/or ignorant evangelicals and the Fellowship of the Pharisees reject criticism of Trump’s immoral and indefensible behavior — choosing to praise him instead as “God’s Man” — the reality is that he is the king they demanded as an exercise of their free will. And because this is true, evangelicals who voted for Trump are not only responsible for his wickedness, but they are also responsible for the judgment coming to America as a result.

Today’s lukewarm, cheap grace evangelical claims that God no longer judges nations for the deeds of their immoral leaders, but Scripture tells us otherwise.

When God gave the law to Moses, he promised judgment upon Israel and its king for embracing evil (Deuteronomy 28:36-37). When the kings practiced and encouraged sin, they brought judgment on the people, and the people had the responsibility to oppose them. However, when God judged these evil kings, the people were judged as well because they were involved in the king’s evil actions.

Throughout the Fellowship’s years of unfailing adoration of all things Trump, his evil has been fully displayed. Instead of being forgiving of others, Trump dismissed God’s requirement to forgive while promising to dish out retribution on his political enemies; a key promise of his 2024 election campaign.

In the story of God’s judgment on Judah, the Old Testament is filled with examples of how God gave the people every opportunity to reject evil and escape judgement. But despite God’s numerous warnings, Judah not only rejected the opportunity to turn from evil, but she also became more defiant and wicked by demanding her free will right to choose evil.

If God judged Judah, his beloved nation, for choosing evil for herself and embracing evil in her king, why should anyone think America will be spared for doing the same thing?

During the rise of Nazi Germany, Dietrich Bonhoeffer recognized that the church in his day had become ineffective as a result of their refusal to call evil by name along with their over-reliance on what he referred to as cheap grace, which he defines as forgiveness without repentance. As I have written before, the parallels between the American church today and the church of Nazi Germany are frighteningly similar.

God can’t and won’t allow cheap grace to prosper because it will destroy the body of Christ, the testimony of the church and ultimately those outside of God’s household who need the church for their salvation. By bringing light to the darkness in order to expose the deeds of the disobedient (Ephesians 5:12-13), God must stop the spread of cheap grace.

As the Fellowship of the Pharisees continue defending Trump’s immorality — thus calling evil good — God will expose them along with other men and women who are destroying the testimony of the church. And just like the 1980’s, the majority of them will be removed from their self-centered, politically motivated positions of power.

Thanks to the cheap grace, lukewarm Fellowship of the Pharisees and their sellout of the Gospel of Jesus Christ for a few crumbs from Trump’s table, we could see Donald Trump back in the White House in 2024 and if that happens, there’s every reason to believe that a great shaking in the church and God’s judgment on America will be the result.

Remember, there will be those to whom Jesus will one day say, “I never knew you.”  (Matthew 7: 21-23)

“Everything that can be shaken will be shaken from within

Better have your house in order when the shaking begins”
