Bless me, Father, I have committed an ‘ecological sin’

Did you hear about the Catholic man who was caught in the act of adultery in the backseat of his SUV? The man felt terrible about it, and knowing he needed to wipe the slate clean in the eyes of God, he went to confession to seek forgiveness.

After hearing the man’s confession, the priest blessed the man and instructed him to say three Our Fathers, two Hail Marys, and to plant a tree.

If the man’s penance sounds strange, let me explain. In today’s Catholic Church, sex outside of marriage isn’t as sinful as owning a CO²-spewing SUV that contributes to the so-called crisis of global warming.

*DISCLAIMER: The story above is satire, but Pope Francis could soon make it a reality.

As a man possessing a strong globalist Marxist ideology, the pontiff has embraced the global warming lie. And he believes in human-caused global warming so strongly that he wants to add “ecological sin” to the Roman Catholic Church’s official teaching:

“We must introduce — we are thinking — into the Catechism of the Catholic Church the sin against ecology, the ecological sin against the common home, because it’s a duty.”

When asked for clarification, Francis said ecological sin would be defined as an “action or omission against God, against others, the community and the environment” and he called it “a sin against future generations . . . manifested in the acts and habits of pollution and destruction of the harmony of the environment.”

For the record, this isn’t the pontiff’s first foray mixing global warming and Catholicism. In June 2015, he issued a papal encyclical blaming human selfishness and capitalism for global warming. In that letter, the pope addressed humanity’s “lost moral compass” on the environment, the “exploitation of natural resources,” the “rapid environmental collapse,” our “failure to respect nature” and the greed behind it all. He also said that “money trumps morality” and that “capitalism is killing planet Earth.”

Karl Marx would be so proud.

The pope’s Marxist approach to global warming might tempt liberty-loving Catholics in America to dismiss his plan to create an ecological sin category to the Church’s teaching, but with Nationalist Conservatives destroying traditional conservatism, it shouldn’t.

Like Marx, Nationalist Conservatives believe in a powerful, centralized government. Like Marx, Nationalist Conservatives believe in a “collective” approach to economics where “government should [be able to] force you” to make only government-approved economic choices. Like Marx, Nationalist Conservatives believe that “the powerful upper class and their cosmopolitan priorities” are responsible for “economic inequality.”

To advance their socialist economic and environmental agendas, global warming zealots have embraced Marxist/Communist ideology ever since the first Earth Day in 1970. Likewise, to advance their socialist-lite economic and environmental agendas, Nationalist Conservatives have embraced Marxist/Communist ideology to push for the implementation of carbon taxes as a means to redistribute the wealth.

According to Pope Francis, capitalism and the free market are killing the planet and causing Catholics to sin. But don’t worry, a few Our Fathers and Hail Marys along with a healthy dose of Marxism will take care of everything.
