Trump and GOP throw Obamacare repeal under the bus

While Russian hacking–or not hacking according to Donald Trump–continues to dominate the news cycle, the GOP leaders in Congress have teamed up with the Trump administration to sweep the promise to repeal Obamacare “root and branch” on “day one” under the bus.

After Vice President-elect Mike Pence met with his buddies on Capitol Hill to let them know that Trump wasn’t serious about his on-again/off-again promise to repeal Obamacare–because candidate Donald and President Donald aren’t necessarily the same thing–members of Congress confirmed what we learned last week about their commitment to repeal Obamacare; they have no commitment to repeal Obamacare.

On Friday last week, Senator Bob Corker (R-TN)–the RINO responsible for making the Iran Nuke Deal a reality–confirmed the cowardess of the GOP in a statement where he admitted that McConnell and Company had no plan for the successful repeal of Obamacare. He further stated how the GOP lacked the votes to fix the healthcare disaster.

Hmmm . . . not enough votes. Do you remember the excuse Mitch McConnell repeatedly used to defend his inaction concerning the repeal of Obamacare, even after the 2014 midterm elections gave the Gutless On Principles party control of Congress? He claimed that his hands were tied with a Democrat in the White House  because he didn’t have enough votes to override a presidential veto.

So what’s his excuse now? Maybe it’s the loss of tax revenue.

Last week, I wrote a piece about how the GOP repeal of Obamacare was fake. This was confirmed by former campaign manager and current Counselor to the President, Kellyanne Conway when she told CNN that the disastrous law was safe for the time being; and might even be safe after any so-called “repeal” offered by Congress.

“Let’s see what happens practically. Some experts say that it could take years to actually complete the process.

“We don’t want anyone who currently has insurance to not have insurance. Also we are very aware that the public likes coverage for pre-existing conditions. There are some pieces of merit in the current plan.”

A few days after Conway’s admission, Rep. Chris Collins (R-NY) confirmed the GOP’s acceptance of Trump’s long list of broken campaign promises, including the repeal of Obamacare. After stating that there will be no repeal in 2017 or 2018, the congressman with an “F” Liberty Score at Conservative Review emphasized that the GOP wouldn’t “pull the rug out” on Obamacare, and that a new plan wasn’t likely until 2019 or later.

Hey . . . that’s just in time for re-election season, which must be a coincidence. After all, it’s not like the GOP would make the repeal of Obamacare a political issue.
