World Economic Forum (WEF) has plans to counter ‘misinformation’

In the latest example of the threat to liberty in America and around the world, the World Economic Forum (WEF) has announced the schedule for its 2023 annual meeting which includes a panel on countering “misinformation.” It is the intention of the WEF to predict and mitigate what it determines to be misinformation on a global scale.

Of course, “misinformation” is the word used to define an individual using their right to free speech to criticize the agenda of the World Economic Forum, particularly when it concerns criticism of government rhetoric concerning COVID (via ReclaimTheNet.org):

The panel is titled “Countering Threats in the Age of Black Swans” and will take place on January 18, 2023, at 9 am Eastern Standard Time (EST).

The description for the panel doesn’t define misinformation but claims that “a wide range of actors” have access to “an ever-increasing capacity to spread misinformation.” This capacity, according to the WEF, is supposedly compounding “threats that were once considered outliers.”

During the panel, speakers will discuss how to predict, mitigate, and counter these threats that are supposedly aggravated by misinformation.

While the panel description doesn’t define misinformation, a recent post promoting the WEF’s annual meeting suggests that the group deems criticism of the WEF and challenging mainstream Covid-19 narratives to be misinformation.

In this post, the WEF complains that it has been targeted by “disinformation campaigns” and links to another post where its managing director, Adrian Monck, suggests that criticism of the WEF’s controversial “You’ll own nothing and you’ll be happy” slogan is tied to a “misinformation campaign.”

In addition to branding criticism of this slogan misinformation, Monck also laments “misinformation concerning COVID-19 and vaccines.” (Emphasis mine)

Ironically, Monck not only brands these topics misinformation, but he also claims that “misinformation derails free speech” and calls for “action to prevent lies being accepted as truth.”

Destroying free speech to save free speech? I’m pretty sure Ron DeSantis has made that part of his 2024 presidential campaign.

Unfortunately, America is a big supporter of addressing misinformation silencing free speech.

At the November 2022 G20 summit held in Bali, Indonesia, leaders signed a declaration calling for the censorship of misinformation and disinformation, a measure fully endorsed by Joe Biden. Though the declaration focused mainly on climate change and Sustainable Development Goals (SGDs), leaders linked SDGs to the importance of online censorship.

The G20 Declaration is an obvious threat to liberty and free speech, but it’s also fundamental to establishing the New World Order. Joe Biden has called for America to lead the way in creating the New World Order, and none other than Klaus Schwab — chair of the World Economic Forum and architect of “The Great Reset” — was an attendee at the G20.

Biden’s endorsement of the G20’s plan to censor disinformation came as no surprise. In April 2022, Biden’s Department of Homeland Security launched the Misinformation and Disinformation Governance Board (MDGB), an agency described by many as a defacto Ministry of Truth straight out of George Orwell’s 1984 designed to deny the free speech rights of people critical of government.

Biden and his DHS secretary took so much heat about the Misinformation/Disinformation Board that they pretended to cancel the idea, but as we learned in November 2022, the Department of Homeland Security had been secretly dismantling free speech using tactics that bear a frightening resemblance to the Ministry of Truth we read about in George Orwell’s 1984 in an expansive effort by the agency to influence tech platforms.

Though the war on free speech has been getting big headlines during Biden’s reign, Donald Trump and the Republican Party put things in motion when they passed the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency Act in 2018, forming a new wing of DHS. The bill made DHS “responsible for protecting the nation’s critical infrastructure from physical and cyber threats.”

Additionally, Trump signed the Internet of Things Cybersecurity Improvement Act of 2020 into law on Dec. 4, 2020. Trump and Republicans said the new law would only apply to federal government agencies, but legal observers warned how the downstream consequences would likely reach much further, impacting devices procured by the federal government and — eventually — consumer devices.

By the way, America isn’t the only North American country working to destroy free speech; our neighbor to the north has been busy working on their own version of a Ministry of Truth (via ReclaimTheNet.org):

Canada’s Online Streaming Act (Bill C-11) is one of several recent attempts by Western governments to crush online speech while claiming that they support free expression.

The bill is being pushed by Canadian Heritage Minister Pablo Rodriguez — a politician who believes that unregulated speech “erodes the foundations of democracy.” And it has the full support of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau — a world leader who previously said freedom of expression isn’t “freedom to hate.”

The bill gives Canada’s communications regulator, the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC), increased powers to regulate “programs” — a definition that applies to almost all forms of audio-visual content that are uploaded by Canadian citizens.

It will empower the CRTC to set content promotion and demotion rules for Canadian content and require platforms to make financial contributions towards Canadian content. (Emphasis mine)

In Orwell’s dystopian vision of the future as described in 1984, the Ministry of Truth pretended to be dedicated to the pursuit of truth when, in fact, its primary function was to erase the truth of the past and present and replace it with the Party’s truth. This was accomplished through the use of doublespeak and Newspeak, languages used to ensure that everyone thought only what the Party wanted them to while making it impossible to betray the Party by thinking independent thoughts.

Orwell refers to all-powerful government as “the Party” and Americans have elected — literally and figuratively — the modern-day Republican/Democrat version of this entity; surrendering the power of the people to these private organizations while trusting them to protect and defend the Constitution.

This is how the Party rose to dominate the political landscape. This is how the Party created a Ministry of Truth. This is how the Party gets away with using political doublespeak to redefine free speech as misinformation or disinformation and criminalize it.

The Republican/Democrat duopoly has been pushing a liberty-killing agenda that bears a frightening resemblance to the world George Orwell described in 1984. Just like Big Brother, our government has worked to control our thoughts, limit our speech, identify criminals before a crime is committed, and track us in public using facial recognition technology.

When we consider how Republicans and Democrats have bought-in to the World Economic Forum’s plan to dismantle free speech by eliminating “misinformation,” we can no longer afford to sit idly by while the government subjugates the Constitution to the will of the duopoly and destroys liberty in America.
