The Great (Strident Conservative) Reset: One year later

Strident Conservative great reset heart attack

The Great (Strident Conservative) Reset: One year later

If you’re a regular reader and/or listener of The Strident Conservative, you know that after years of going strong, I came to the realization about one year ago that things weren’t going as well as I had hoped, and that God was using this revelation to let me know that I needed a great reset.

One year ago, I put together a punch list of things I felt needed to get done to get my mission back on track, but as I read that list today, I still feel like I’m missing the mark when it comes to fighting the battle for liberty and conservative values in a world where the odds are overwhelmingly against me.

The great Strident Conservative reset has had some success, but I have been spinning my wheels so hard for so long that I still find myself stuck in a rut, and as the late, great, motivational speaker Zig Ziglar said, “A rut is a grave with the ends kicked out” — an interesting description considering my recent heart attack.

One year ago, I decided that I would take 2-3 months away from posting a blog on a daily basis while still producing my daily talk radio feature so I might find the time to pursue some of the other things I believe God has called me to do. However, as I look back, I find myself falling short. For example, I have been working on a book for several years that has gone mostly unrealized due to my daily responsibilities on The Strident Conservative. It’s been quite a juggling act.

As I’ve shared in the past, I believe I need to create a one-hour podcast with the hope that once it receives enough national exposure, advertisers would join in and subsidize it.

To free up my time, I need to hire someone to manage my social media along with a publicist or PR person to promote the Strident Conservative for speaking and TV/radio appearances. I still want to make Strident Conservative merchandise available for purchase. I need to upgrade the website. I would still like to hire — and pay — a writing staff.

I need to allow the Lord to get me back to doing what I describe on the Strident Conservative Facebook page:

The Strident Conservative is a voice in the wilderness calling for a return to conservatism and the Constitution. Using just the right mixture of sarcasm and satire, our matter-of-fact approach to the issues provides a daily dose of Politically Incorrect | Always Right ™ commentary that is informative and entertaining.

Being an equal opportunity critic who holds members of every political stripe accountable in print and on-the-air, the Strident Conservative promotes conservative principles over political parties, making it a perfect fit for news and talk stations. And with our biblical world view, our work also complements Christian stations in every format.

At the heart of The Strident Conservative is a burning belief that the America envisioned by our Founding Fathers is worth fighting for. That’s why we do what we do.

To reach the goals identified in the great Strident Conservative reset, I need your financial support more than ever. Over the past few years, I’ve lost many of my financial supporters even though their support was vital to keeping daily operations up and running.

When it comes to my book, Heart of Liberty, many of the “conservative” publishers are subsidiaries of the Salem empire, which means multiple rejections from people unwilling to publish a book written by an author who is Never Trump/Never GOP. However, I can still publish it using the same method once used by the likes of Mark Twain: self-publishing.

Self-publishing can be done many ways, but to ensure that my book stacks up against the big names with bigger platforms than mine, I need to raise thousands of dollars to get it professionally edited, professionally published, and professionally marketed. I’m working with Story Builders, a creative team whose focus is crafting compelling books, resources, and experiences that will have a positive impact. As professional writers, Story Builders has brought many books to life and has worked with top names in the conservative political space, from U.S. Congressmen to influencers in media.

To this end, I have launched a fundraising campaign hosted by Give Send Go.

I need your help. I also need your prayers and moral support, not only for the great Strident Conservative reset, but also for my health. While my recent heart attack would be a perfect excuse to give up, I’ve decided to use this medical emergency as a reminder of that task that lies before me, and the precious time I have to get it done.

The threat to liberty and conservatism in America is worse than it’s ever been in our lifetime, and I remain committed to do all I can to continue fighting for these values because I choose to do so.

Liberty or tyranny. Freedom or slavery. Surrender or revolution. The only way for us to break free of Trumpism, nationalism, and the Republican Party is to choose to fight for conservatism:

I choose to be a revolutionary who speaks truth because, as George Orwell once stated, “Speaking the truth in times of universal deceit is a revolutionary act.”

I choose to be a voice in the wilderness who calls out faux conservatives in the media for abandoning conservatism and exchanging it for political preservation.

I choose to call out the Fellowship of the Pharisees for sacrificing the Gospel of Jesus Christ on the altar of cheap grace for a seat at the table of political power.

I’m not as far along as I had hoped after one year, but I’m still dedicated to the Great Strident Conservative Reset. And I hope I can still count on your support.
