Omnibus spending bill is bad for the budget, it’s bad for unborn babies too!

Yesterday, I wrote a piece about the omnibus spending bill making its way through Washington and how it’s not only bad news for conservative values such as smaller government, reduced spending, and fiscal responsibility. It’s also bad for the Second Amendment.

But there are so many special interest policy riders and Republican broken promises included in the over 2300-page omnibus bill being forced down our throats that many more betrayals will likely be revealed after Trump signs the $1.4 trillion behemoth into law.

And you thought “Pass the bill to find out what’s in it” was just a Pelosi/Obamacare thing.

Another bit of bad news in the omnibus involves the genocidal holocaust taking place in America at the hands of baby butchers like Planned Parenthood.

Despite earning the praises of so-called pro-life leaders like Susan B. Anthony List president Marjorie Dannenfelser, who thanked Trump for his “strong leadership” and also thanked Mitch McConnell, Kevin McCarthy and a host of “pro-life allies” for “holding pro-abortion Democrats accountable,” the omnibus finances Planned Parenthood to the tune of more than $550 million by the end of the fiscal year.

In other words, Republicans elected to keep the government open, in part, on the backs and other body parts of the hundreds of thousands of unborn babies Planned Parenthood will murder by the end of the fiscal year.

Republicans and pro-life groups are pointing out how the GOP shot down last-minute riders to the omnibus that would have reversed Trump’s ban of Title X funds to organizations promoting abortion and his restoration of the Mexico City Policy banning funds for abortions outside the US as evidence that the party is keeping its promise to end abortion. Nothing could be further from the truth.

Trump’s “Protect Life Rule” defunding abortion providers receiving Title X funds allegedly denied Planned Parenthood of nearly $60 million, but White House officials admitted this was untrue. Planned Parenthood could continue receiving Title X money with a little creative bookkeeping, something the abortion provider elected not to do, choosing instead to fight the Rule in court.

This court battle is smoke and mirrors because Planned Parenthood funding has increased under Trump to the point where the $60 million “loss” is on the way to being made up. Through Medicaid reimbursements and family planning grants, Planned Parenthood funding has increased by nearly $20 million year-over-year since 2017-2018.

Reinstating the Mexico City Policy is little more than window dressing. Besides the fact that it can be and most likely will be reversed by the next Democrat president, Trump’s “expanded” version of the policy contains exceptions that allow groups outside the US to provide abortion and still receive US taxpayer funds.

Using what is called the “affirmative duty defense,” abortion providers in countries where national law specifically requires abortion services as a method of family-planning aren’t subject to the Mexico City Policy and are entitled to receive US funds.

Another exception is the “passive referral” exception, which spells out that in countries where abortion is legal, recipients of US aid are permitted to refer a woman to an abortion provider upon request.

Under Trump, we’re getting record deficit spending and taxpayer-financed funding for the nation’s largest provider of baby-killing services.

But at least he’s not Hillary. Right?
