Larry Ellison’s UK digital ID cancelled but he still has Trump and America
The UK has decided to cancel plans to launch Larry Ellison’s AI-powered digital ID scheme designed to allegedly make the country’s “borders more secure” and ensure that only legal residents can work. If that scheme sounds familiar, it’s most likely because Donald Trump has been working with Ellison to bring an AI-powered digital ID scheme to America.
According to the UK government, this AI-based digital ID would have made it easier to apply for government and private sector services (such as helping renters prove their identity to landlords) and would improve access to welfare and other benefits. It would have also been required for right to work checks, stop those with no right to be in the country from finding work, and send a clear message that if you came to the UK illegally, you won’t be able to work.
The UK’s digital ID would have been free, stored “securely” on your phone, and would have included the following information:
- name
- date of birth
- information on nationality or residency status
- a photo – as the basis for biometric security – similar to an eVisa or Passport, but updated for the modern digital world we live in.
It was exactly one year ago that UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced that he was making digital ID cards mandatory for every citizen in the UK before they can hold a job or rent a home while conveniently leaving out how it would give government control of pretty much every aspect of daily life (via Times Now News):
The digital ID will include residency status, name, date of birth, nationality, and a photograph. Employers and landlords will be required to verify the ID before hiring or renting to someone, replacing paper-based checks like National Insurance numbers.
The UK has tried to introduce ID cards before. Tony Blair’s Labour government proposed voluntary cards in the early 2000s, but the scheme was scrapped in 2011 by the Conservative-led coalition, citing cost and intrusion concerns. Mandatory ID cards were last used during and after World War II, with the system ending in 1952.
Ministers say the digital ID will eventually simplify access to services such as driving licenses, childcare, welfare, and tax records, while making government processes more efficient and reducing fraud. (Emphasis mine)
Though Blair’s earlier attempt at digital ID never came to pass, he made a push a few years ago for a COVID version of the idea to ensure that people were complying with vaccine mandates. And even as recently as February 2025, Blair was convinced that people were ready to surrender their liberty in favor of a digital ID system run by AI.
Tony Blair’s dreams of an AI-powered digital ID for every UK citizen took the big government/big tech marriage to a level familiar to Americans today when it was revealed that he snagged one of the billionaire backers of his Institute for Global Change to be a major player in its creation. The name of that backer? None other than Donald Trump confidant and founder of Oracle, Larry Ellison.
As a big-money donor to Tony Blair, Ellison and Oracle stood to profit from forcing millions of adults in the UK to sign up for the digital ID card to the tune of millions of pounds (via Daily Mail).
Tech experts believe Oracle, a giant database and software firm co-founded by Ellison in 1977, could gain commercially from the introduction of the scheme.
It is understood the ID cards will rely on a huge ‘Right to Work’ database that is estimated to cost between £150m to £400m.
Oracle already has a series of major NHS technology contracts and provides so-called cloud competing services for the Home Office, Department of Work and Pensions, Ministry of Justice and the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs in a deal worth up to £1bn.
Technology writer Andrew Orlowski said: ‘The Government’s digital identity system creates lucrative new opportunities for Oracle, a database company.
It has already hoovered up major government IT contracts in recent years and will be in pole position to land future work linked to ID cards. (Emphasis mine)
Now, let’s shift our focus to America.
Donald Trump’s “Stargate Project” was launched in the early days of his second term as the cornerstone of his “Golden Age of America” which means that AI-controlled digital ID has been in the works as part of his border security and immigration agenda from the beginning. Key to this agenda is Stargate AI, considered to be a source of power so massive that it will completely destroy liberty and humanity. One of the players working with Trump is Larry Ellison.
In an Oracle company financial meeting, Ellison shared his vision for an AI-powered surveillance future, a future where artificial intelligence systems would constantly monitor citizens through an extensive network of cameras and drones, stating this would ensure both police and citizens don’t break the law.
Ellison also shared a scenario where AI could be used to analyze footage from security cameras, police body cams, doorbell cameras, and vehicle dash cams before declaring that “citizens will be on their best behavior because we are constantly recording and reporting everything that’s going on.” Ellison also believes that Stargate AI will prevent future pandemics.
But that’s small potatoes compared to Trump’s plans for Oracle. This past summer, Trump OK’d a $7 billion software deal that merges all of Oracle’s product and licensing services with the Pentagon into one contract. What could possibly go wrong?
An AI-controlled digital ID makes building a social credit system easier — especially when you add digital currency to the mix. Digital currency will put every single cent of our money under government control to be spent (or not spent) as the Republican/Democrat duopoly sees fit.
One example of what this might look like comes to us courtesy of China — didn’t Trump just have several meetings with the Communist leader of that country? — and the CBDC (Digital Yuan), a digital currency tied to the country’s vaccine passport and social credit systems. Some of the areas tracked in real time by China’s “social credit system” are (via New Horizons):
- Medical history
- Social media posts and internet search history
- Bank accounts and credit cards
- Residence, employment, and criminal history
- Relationships and religious activities
- Political activity
This information is fed to a central database in real time to create a “social credit score” is used to reward or punish citizens. Those with a high score are able to participate freely in society while those with a low score are prohibited from traveling, borrowing money, keeping a job, or even getting their children into school. China doesn’t only track their citizens, it controls them — the ultimate goal of any AI-powered digital ID system.
Just like the UK, Trump enjoys big government/big tech partnerships . . . literally! In one of his many fascist approaches to government, Trump made the US government a partner with Larry Ellison and a host of billionaires when he “saved” TikTok and moved its base of operations to the US (via United Press International):
The social media platform TikTok soon will be U.S.-based, according to a purported preliminary deal to keep the popular app operating for American users.
A joint venture with software giant Oracle will keep the video app’s operations in the United States, with a majority control of it board of directors being Americans, a senior administration official confirmed to CNBC, CNN and USA Today.
According to the White House, no board member will be selected by the federal government, and U.S. President Donald Trump is expected to ink an executive order this week that backs the proposal in yet another extension.
On Saturday, the White House initially revealed that TikTok’s U.S. operations will be controlled by a U.S. entity in a planned deal to spin off the wildly popular social media platform from its Chinese owners.
AI conglomerate Oracle will manage TikTok’s algorithm and security operations, the official added. (Emphasis mine)
Even though the UK has abandoned its AI-controlled digital ID scheme, Larry Ellison still has Donald Trump to make it a reality in the US.
