Trump’s first 100 non-conservative days in office

If Donald Trump’s first 100 days in office have shown us anything, it’s that conservatism has had very little influence when it comes to setting his priorities. In fact, his disregard of the conservative values held by many of the people who voted for him grows worse as time goes on.

When the House Freedom Caucus successfully prevented passage of the GOP Establishment’s fake repeal of Obamacare last month, Trump openly threatened Caucus members by name with a promise to primary them if they continued to stand in the way of passing Trumpcare–the name given to the make-believe repeal of the Affordable Care Act.

When the GOP Establishment genie granted 160 wishes to Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi in order to pass the $1.1 trillion omnibus bill, Trump defended the measure while hailing it as a victory for the military. Meanwhile, Trump conveniently left out the fact that nearly every Democrat priority, from money to murder the unborn via Planned Parenthood to funding sanctuary cities, received the same amount of money, or more, as before.

Such behavior comes as no surprise to those of us paying attention. Mark Levin recently observed how Trump has no constitutional conservatives to guide his policy-making decisions.

While I appreciate Levin’s perspective, I don’t think he should hold his breath waiting for Trump to hire a constitutional conservative anytime soon. Recent evidence would seem to indicate a continued shift to the left by the New York liberal due to the fact that Ivanka Trump and her husband Jared Kushner are running the show.

A recent article at Conservative Review documents how Ivanka has been the puppet master pulling the strings on issues involving the LGBT agenda, Planned Parenthood and bombing Syria. She is also the driving force behind new entitlement spending coming down the pike with programs such as paid, taxpayer-funded maternity leave.

Trump’s first 100 days in office proves conclusively that conservatism has been abandoned by the Trump and the GOP Establishment.
