Rachel Dolezal writes bizarre book about the trials of being fake-black

What do you do when you’ve been outed as a fraud – a white person going “incog-negro” as black, the ruse cost you your job as an NAACP chapter president, you became the laughing-stock of a nation and found yourself, broke, jobless, on food stamps and near homeless?  Why, you write a book of course! Because everyone wants to read your perspectives on…err….well….nothing.

Thus is the plight of one of America’s most infamous fake racial minorities, Rachel Dolezal. Dolezal is a member of a club occupied exclusively by liberals, the collection of people who ‘identify’ as being a race other than that which they are and accept jobs, scholarships and other opportunities reserved for true ethnic-minorities and do so with impunity. But Dolezal could be the first to attempt to cash in on her infamy by writing a tell-all book about how she got to be a faux-black person and why she remains one.

Now she’s out doing what authors do, making the media rounds and giving interviews in the hopes of stirring up the interests of would-be book buyers. While it’d be shocking if more than eleven copies get sold, the window into Dolezal’s unique psychosis or latent genius (you be the judge) is fascinating.

In Full Color: Finding My Place in a Black and White World is a series of revelations, some bizarre, others baffling.  In it Dolezal says she wanted to be black from a young age,“I would pretend to be a dark-skinned princess in the Sahara Desert or one of the Bantu women living in the Congo … imagining I was a different person living in a different place was one of the few ways … that I could escape the oppressive environment I was raised in.”  She writes that she would rub mud on her hands, arms, feet and legs in an effort to be black.  Not normal.

As she steadily changed her outward appearance by tanning, braiding her hair, etc. and people began to be duped she says she didn’t correct those who thought she was black. In fact, she embraced it.  That’s called “fake.”

Then things really get wacky.  Dolezal, whose mother Ruthanne, acknowledged the family’s ancestry is Czech, Swedish and German with “faint traces” of Native American heritage, claims the reason her first marriage failed is “because she was too black” for her (African-American) husband!  This you just can’t make up, but alas all is not well in the liberal world of “you are who you identify as.”

Comments made this week by Dolezal, who has legally changed her name to Nkechi Amare Diallo, a West African way of saying “gift from the gods”, has some libs up in arms. From Hotair:

“During an interview with the BBC yesterday she launched into her theory that she’s really black in a “transracial” sort of way and your race really doesn’t mean anything to begin with because race is a lie…

Dolezal, 39, claimed that ethnicity is not biological and compared being ‘transracial’ to being transgender in an interview with BBC’s Newsnight on Monday.

Following the interview, Twitter users criticized Dolezal’s comments, accusing her of using ‘white privilege’ to make her arguments. Dolezal, from Spokane, Washington, said in the interview: ‘Gender is understood – we’ve progressed, we’ve evolved to understanding that gender is not binary.’

She added: ‘It’s not even biological. But what strikes me as so odd is that race isn’t biological either.

…Dolezal is something of a nightmare for the Social Justice Warrior crowd because the position she is staking out is the exact subject which most of the transgender activists don’t want to talk about. Both gender and race are obviously biological and we have all sorts of markers we can test ourselves for if we have any questions. But while progressives have mostly fallen into line on the unscientific gender question, applying the same standard to race produces howls of discontent.”

Trying to claim that race is not biological is like saying water is not wet. Its nonsensical. However, liberals trying to make the same statement about gender find themselves in a quandary. There are any number of tests that can be given to an individual to determine gender or race. Websites like ancestry.com make a decent buck by having people send in a saliva sample which is used to identify DNA and trace family trees. It’s biology most of us took our freshman year. If your ancestral roots run back to thirteenth century Norway, chances are relatively slim you’re black or Hispanic.

She wraps the whole thing up by claiming she was an “indentured servant.”

Clearly the fascination with Dolezal is waning and now even the liberal crowd who’d normally stand up for an ‘identity warrior’ is pulling in the welcome mat. The Huffington Post itself led with an editorial column today in its “Black Pages” section titled, “Can We Please Stop Giving Rachel Dolezal A Platform?”

When you’re a lib and even HuffPo tosses you under the bus, you’re done.
