The American College of Pediatricians recently issued a statement regarding the growing transgender movement and how it is affecting our children. Calling it, at best, a sign of “confused thinking” and not a “genetic marker of a [biological] disorder, the ACP concluded:
“Conditioning children into believing a lifetime of chemical and surgical impersonation of the opposite sex is normal and healthful is child abuse.”
This is why the effort by government at all levels, including our public schools, to promote transgenderism as normal and acceptable is so troubling. But the wheels keep on turning nonetheless, as we see in this latest story from the Michigan State Board of Education.
Spearheaded by board president John C. Austin and signed by state superintendent Brian Whiston, a guidance document has been drafted to push the state’s schools to allow students, without parental or doctoral input, to choose their gender, name, pronouns, bathrooms, and locker rooms:
“The responsibility for determining a student’s gender identity rests with the student. Outside confirmation from medical or mental health professionals or documentation of legal changes, is not needed.”
The board describes identity as “a person’s deeply held internal sense or psychological knowledge of their own gender regardless of the biological sex assigned at birth.”
Assigned at birth? These idiots act like someone flipped a coin on the matter. Everyone is born with a pair of chromosomes; XY = Male and XX = Female. It’s not rocket science, but it is biological science. Of course, the efforts of the politically correct and the LGBT movement aren’t science-based, they are agenda-based.
The Michigan Board of Education makes no mention of age requirements, so children from preschool on up are apparently covered. And forget about parental rights. The guidance deliberately cuts out parents, even hiding the child’s gender identity from them, saying that teachers are prohibited from mentioning it unless the child consents.
The liberal-left has always contended that the LGBT movement is only concerned with equality and fair treatment. But as this latest situation proves, it’s about redefining morality and normalcy.
If we continue sitting on the sidelines as if their agenda doesn’t affect us, it won’t be long before children everywhere are exposed to this abuse.
