During a recent interaction on social media with a supporter of Donald Trump—or a Trumpette as I like to call them—I was called a word that means “a small cat or kitten.” I think you know what I’m talking about.
The reason I was called such a name—a word that Trump recently used himself on the campaign trail to describe Ted Cruz—was because I had the audacity to speak my mind about some of Trump’s policy positions; or at least what they are today since they are likely going to be different tomorrow.
And this got me to thinking. Why do Trump and his minions object whenever someone displays the same behavior they admire in the New York values candidate?
Here’s what I mean:
- Trump claims to be anti-establishment even though he has given more money to establishment politicians, including Democrats, than he has to Conservatives. I’m anti-conservative and I can document that fact all the way back to 2008 when I opened the Strident Conservative for business.
- Trump claims to be anti-Obamacare even though he supports a single-payer healthcare system. I oppose Obamacare and, again, I can prove it with documentation from my website; along with my decision to pay the fine—I’m sorry, the tax—for refusing to participate.
- And there are many other issues, such as gun control, Planned Parenthood funding and eminent domain where his actions contradict his rhetoric. My actions are well-established and consistent. Or should I say “strident.”
Despite his apparent 11th hour conversion meant to do nothing more than win at all costs—because winning is what the Donald is all about—the one overwhelming reason people give to justify their cult-like loyalty is his “no-nonsense, I don’t care what you think” attitude.
So today I’m announcing my candidacy for President of the United States, because I offer everything you get with Trump along with one thing you don’t get — a real Conservative with a long track record to back it up.
I hope you’ll give my your vote. If you don’t, you’re an idiot, and I don’t care what you think about that!
