U.S. military’s social experiment bringing predictable results

Military - women

The results of President Obama’s push to remake our military are completely predictable — just not politically correct.

As the Pentagon faces increasing pressure from the Obama administration to fully integrate women into all phases of military operations, including forward combat roles and areas, a new study has been released that shows U.S. Marine combat units are at greater risk, greater disadvantage in combat and suffer more injuries when women are integrated into units.

An executive summary of the report was recently released as all branches of the military services prepare to submit recommendations to Defense Secretary Ashton B. Carter this fall on whether any jobs should be kept closed to women.

The Marine Corps (pronounced “core“, for those like Obama who might be unfamiliar with the term) conducted a scientific study covering months of male and female Marines in simulated battle. The study was uncovered by CBS News. Researchers recorded unit performances to determine the impact women had on combat. The results revealed that the all-male units performed better than those units comprised with both men and women and that women get injured more.

Overall, the report says, all-male teams and crews outperformed mixed-gender ones on 93 out of 134 tasks evaluated. All-male teams were universally faster “in each tactical movement.” On “lethality,” the report says:

“All-male 0311 (rifleman) infantry squads had better accuracy compared to gender-integrated squads. There was a notable difference between genders for every individual weapons system (i.e. M4, M27, and M203) within the 0311 squads, except for the probability of hit & near miss with the M4.”

And:

“All-male infantry crew-served weapons teams engaged targets quicker and registered more hits on target as compared to gender-integrated infantry crew-served weapons teams, with the exception of M2 accuracy.”

And:

“All-male squads, teams and crews and gender-integrated squads, teams, and crews had a noticeable difference in their performance of the basic combat tasks of negotiating obstacles and evacuating casualties. For example, when negotiating the wall obstacle, male Marines threw their packs to the top of the wall, whereas female Marines required regular assistance in getting their packs to the top. During casualty evacuation assessments, there were notable differences in execution times between all-male and gender-integrated groups, except in the case where teams conducted a casualty evacuation as a one-Marine fireman’s carry of another (in which case it was most often a male Marine who “evacuated” the casualty)”

The report also says that female Marines had higher rates of injury throughout the experiment.

How can this be? Simple. The truth is that liberals like Obama refuse to recognize is that men and women are equal, but not equivalent.

For example: Consider physical fitness testing requirements for men and women. All soldiers in the U.S. Army must attend Basic Training and pass a fitness test to graduate out. The Minimum Army Basic Training PFT requirements for a male aged 17 to 21 years are: able to perform 35 pushups, 47 sit ups, complete the 2-mile run in no more than 16 minutes and 36 seconds. For a female of the same age the minimum requirements are: 13 pushups, 47 sit ups, and complete the 2-mile run in no more than 19:42.

The U.S. Marine Corps has slight variations. To complete Marine Basic Training PFT a 17 to 26 year old man must be able to: perform at least 3 pull ups, perform 50 crunches and complete a 3-mile run in 28:00 minutes. Females are not required to perform any pull ups at all but rather be able to: maintain a “flexed-arm hang” for 15 seconds. They have 31 minutes in which to complete the 3-mile run.

Why the differences in standards? The politically-correct answer is obvious. And if introducing women to front-line combat positions fails to strengthen our military capabilities, why are we doing it?
