Trump/Corker Twitter war proves the swamp is still full

Donald Trump embarked on one of his worn-out, self-aggrandizing Twitter wars over the weekend, this one against retiring Senator Bob Corker. Essentially calling the Tennessee Republican a coward, Trump Tweeted to the world that Corker only chose to retire after the New York Liberal refused to give the Tennessee RINO his endorsement.

When you consider the loss by Luther Strange in Alabama a few weeks ago, who was endorsed by Trump, it would seem that Corker isn’t missing out on all that much if Trump’s claims are true–which might not be the case.

Corker Tweeted in kind by calling the White House an “adult daycare center,” which sounds pretty accurate to me.

This drew the ire of White House Counselor Kellyanne Conway, who stated in an interview with Trump Pravda (FOX News) that Corker’s words were “demeaning” and “insulting.”

“Well it is (demeaning), and world leaders see that. We’ve all worked with Sen. Corker over the years. We thank him for his service, but I find tweets like this to be incredibly irresponsible.

“It adds to the insulting that the mainstream media and the president’s detractors — almost a year after this election they still can’t accept the election results — it adds to their ability and their cover to speak about a president of the United States, the president of the United States, in ways that no president should be talked about.”

As the person within the White House responsible for defending Trump’s endless Twitter rants, if anyone should know what demeaning and insulting looks like, it’s Kellyanne.

I’m no fan of Bob Corker, the guy who almost single-handedly delivered the Iran nuke deal to Barack Obama, not to mention his love affair with the NSA and its unconstitutional data-collection practices. But this attitude that bullying and intimidation can serve as a substitute for Trump’s lack of leadership and inability to do the job is equally unacceptable. This is made worse when the talking heads within the administration, along with the Trump cult, defend his indefensible behavior.

While Corker is correct in his criticisms of Trump, his RINO establishment track record makes him wrong for America. Likewise, while Trump is correct in his criticism of Corker’s failures with the Iran deal, his track record as a narcissistic New York liberal lacking any core values makes him wrong as well.

Trump and Corker are two peas in the same establishment pod–creating a lose/lose situation for conservatism in America and proving that the swamp is still full.
