Ever since he assumed the office of President, the anointed one has gone to great lengths to “extend an open hand” to Muslims around the world, even those intent on the destruction of the United States and her allies. However, even these facts fail to explain the total disregard displayed by the White House towards the Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, during his recent visit.
In an ultimate display of arrogance and insensitivity, the “Citizen of the World” chose to walk out on the Prime Minister in order to have his dinner. Our friends at Hot Air provide us with what happened:
For a head of state to visit the White House and not pose for photographers is rare. For a key ally to be left to his own devices while the President withdraws to have dinner in private was, until this week, unheard of…
After failing to extract a written promise of concessions on Jewish settlements, Mr Obama walked out of his meeting with Mr Netanyahu but invited him to stay at the White House, consult with advisors and “let me know if there is anything new”, a US congressman who spoke to the Prime Minister said today.
“It was awful,” the congressman said. One Israeli newspaper called the meeting “a hazing in stages”, poisoned by such mistrust that the Israeli delegation eventually left rather than risk being eavesdropped on a White House phone line. Another said that the Prime Minister had received “the treatment reserved for the President of Equatorial Guinea”…
Sadly, this isn’t the first time that Obama has displayed disdain for Israel.
During his campaign in 2008, Obama declared to the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) that Israel would remain “undivided” as the capital of Israel, but then retracted his commitment a few days later when the Palestinians raised a ruckus.
In his first visit to the Middle East as President in 2009, Obama embraced his Muslim roots in multiple speeches, bowed to Arab royalty, and announced that Israeli settlements were illegitimate, all without the courtesy of a visit to America’s strongest ally while in the area.
Further evidence of Obama’s lack of appreciation of America’s relationship with Israel can be seen in his handling of the nation of Iran.
Long ago identified by President George W. Bush as a member of the “Axis of Evil,” Obama has allowed Iran to continue the development of its nuclear weapons program. This is very troubling when we consider that Iran’s President, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, has called Israel a “cancerous tumor” that must be “wiped from the map.”
Obama claims that building condos in Jerusalem is more dangerous to Middle East peace than building nukes in Tehran. This is evidence that he is either incredibly ignorant, or he has decided that our relationships with nations bent on Israel’s destruction are more important than supporting our strongest ally in the region.
In the end, perhaps Obama would treat Netanyahu and his country better if he were Muslim.
I will bless those who bless you and curse those who treat you with contempt. – Genesis 12:3
Pray for peace in Jerusalem. May all who love this city prosper. – Psalms 122:6
