The “h” in homosexual stands for hero or something

In a series of interviews meant to draw attention to how he chooses to use his penis in sexual situations, University of Missouri All-American Michael Sam declared to the world that he is homosexual.  Well, in the words of the Church lady:

Of course, the hedonistic society we now find ourselves in says that this is not only OK, but apparently this qualifies Mr. Sam as some sort of hero. Move over firefighters; step aside police officers; stand at attention members of the military. A new hero has taken your place, and his name is homosexual.

Shannon Sharpe, the NFL Hall of Fame tight-end—a word that might have new meaning after the draft—made sure to give his endorsement of Sam’s heroism.

Make us proud? Not sure what that means, but did you notice that Sharpe doesn’t even know the guy? In Shannon Sharpe’s world, you might suck as a football player, but if you’re a homosexual, then you get “big ups.”

The Obama Whitehouse has also elevated this guy to hero status.

Of course, praise for celebrity homosexuals who happen to be black is nothing new for this White House. Obama made a personal phone call to washed up NBA player Jason Collins, saying that he “couldn’t be prouder” of him for revealing in a Sports Illustrated interview that he liked men instead of women when having sex. Gee, I’m surprised he didn’t use the “if I had a son, he’d be _________ ” line. Collins also got a V.I.P. seat with Michelle Obama at the 2014 State of the Union speech last month.

Of course, with every word of praise comes the usual “this shouldn’t matter” commentary. Which leads to the question, if it shouldn’t matter, why do so many feel the need to “come out” to the national media? Could there be another motivation behind these brave people declaring to millions how they choose to have sex? Another look at Obama’s statement about Jason Collins might shed some light on that question.

“He seems like a terrific young man, and I told him I couldn’t be prouder,” Obama said. “One of the extraordinary measures of progress that we’ve seen in this country has been the recognition that the LGBT community deserves full equality — not just partial equality, not just tolerance, but a recognition that they’re fully a part of the American family.” (emphasis mine)

And there you have it. These so-called heroes aren’t asking for tolerance. They are demanding recognition. To put it another way, they don’t seek acceptance from society, they demand society endorse and embrace their lifestyle choices. And they do this, don’t forget, because it shouldn’t matter. Go figure.

Now, there are those who say, why should I care? And as an isolated incident, that may be a valid question. But this demand for acceptance goes beyond a football player pulling a publicity stunt.

The sexual revolution led to sex without rules. Sex without rules led to sex without consequences—although that’s a lie. Sex without consequences led to acceptance of homosexuality. Homosexuality led to an assault against heterosexual norms of marriage and relationship. The assault against heterosexual norms is leading to polygamy and pedophilia.

  • A December 13, 2013 court decision in Utah by a federal judge effectively decriminalized plural marriage in the state. The plaintiffs in the case—Kody Brown and his four “wives”—challenged the law  in July 2011, charging that it violates their rights to privacy and religious  freedom.
  • Pedophilia has been widely viewed as a psychological disorder triggered by early childhood trauma. Now, many experts see it as a biologically rooted condition that does not change—like a sexual orientation (gee, that sounds familiar)—thanks largely to a decade of research by Dr. James Cantor at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health.

And for those who read this and claim that I’m nothing more than a scare-mongering, right-wing extremists, consider this quote from Masha Gessen (a lesbian activist) about the real goal of the homosexual movement:

“The institution of marriage is going to change, and it should change. And again, I don’t think it should exist. I have three kids who have five parents, more or less, and I don’t see why they shouldn’t have five parents legally… I met my new partner, and she had just had a baby, and that baby’s biological father is my brother, and my daughter’s biological father is a man who lives in Russia, and my adopted son also considers him his father. So the five parents break down into two groups of three… And really, I would like to live in a legal system that is capable of reflecting that reality, and I don’t think that’s compatible with the institution of marriage.”

Or this little tidbit from the article, Gay power vs. religious liberty:

“The legal struggle for queer rights will one day be a struggle between  freedom of religion versus sexual orientation.” – Canadian lesbian lawyer  Barbara Finlay, quoted by columnist John Leo and Janet Folger (Porter), “The  Criminalization of Christianity”

And this:

The “zero-sum game” is how homosexual activist law professor and Obama EEOC  (Equal Employment Opportunity Commission) appointee Chai Feldblum describes the  legal battles between modern “rights” based on homosexual “orientation” (read:  behavior) and the traditional American principle of religious liberty.

“Gays win, Christians lose,” Feldblum said, predicting homosexuals would win  most of the legal contests.

If Michael Sam is as good as many think he is, he would have been a success in the NFL regardless of how he has sex. Supposedly, there is now a danger that he might not get a fair shot after outing himself. I sincerely doubt that. In fact, I believe his stunt is more likely a well-orchestrated attempt to get special treatment that will get him more than he would have otherwise.

Whether this ends up as a good thing or a bad thing for Sam is still to be determined. But why do the men and women who claim that the way they engage in sex shouldn’t be an issue keep making it one?

In the eyes of some people, they do it because they are heroes.
