Nation gone under

Do you believe in a political solution to the problems our country faces? Are you convinced that if we just had the right person in the White House we would change back to a moral society? Do you even care about morals? What exactly do we stand for as a nation, as a people, as a society and as a community? I ask these questions because over the past week I have become more and more dejected about the current state of America. We have gone from being the descendants of men who founded the country by allowing God govern…

Racism - Charlie Brown

Hillary Clinton stated this week that even open-minded white people get nervous when they encounter a black man in a hoodie. Now, first of all, this observation from Clinton doesn’t seem very open-minded to begin with. Is it not narrow-minded to assume there is a stigma against black people in hoodies? Why single out a black person? Isn’t Clinton displaying racism when she paints black people in hoodies as dangerous? Why should white people to pay extra attention to a black male in a hoodie? It didn’t take long for Salon.com to latch on to the race aspect of the shooting, and add fuel to an already raging inferno. The gunman was still on the loose, yet that didn’t stop them from releasing a headline that reads, “Charleston church massacre: The violence white America must answer for.” This…

Obama’s poll numbers are down so you’re a racist!

Without even knowing what they are, I know Obama’s poll numbers must be on the decline, because the left has been wearing out the binding on their race-baiting bibles as they attack any and all criticisms brought by Republicans on the administration. This has become ever more apparent since the first of this year when, in a New Yorker Magazine article, Obama blamed his sinking poll numbers at the time on the color of his skin : “There’s no doubt that there’s some folks who just really dislike me because they don’t like the idea of a black president.” Of course, I’m sure the fact that…

Obamacare and the civil rights of minorities: Two peas in a pod

At least that’s what HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius claimed in her speech at the NAACP convention this week. In an amazing coincidence of timing—her statement came just a few days following the not-guilty verdict in the Trayvon Martin/George Zimmerman case—Sebelius told the audience that opposition to Obamacare was equal to those who opposed the Civil Rights laws passed in the 1960s. “The Affordable Care Act is the most powerful law for reducing health disparities since Medicare and Medicaid were created in 1965, the same year the Voting Rights Act was also enacted,” Sebelius said. “That significance hits especially close to home. My father was a congressman…
