RINO Republicans will confirm Eric Holder 2.0

RINO not extinct yetUnfortunately, but not surprisingly, it looks like Eric Holder 2.0 (i.e. Loretta Lynch) will be the next Attorney General of the United States thanks to Republican Mark Kirk of Illinois—one of the Senate’s most reliable RINOs.

I guess the Senate isn’t as racist as the Congressional Black Caucus claimed, but I digress.

Now, you could argue that Kirk has an excuse for being a spineless RINO due to the fact that he represents the deep-blue state of Illinois along with the fact that he will be facing re-election in 2016. On the other hand, I’m fed up with the lying liars in the Republican party making promises in order to get our vote, only to see them spend all their time protecting their sorry butts instead of working to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States after they are in office.

Even if you give Kirk a pass, what’s the excuse for Jeff Flake, Lindsey Graham, and Orrin Hatch? These guys all represent red states and none of them face an election in 2016. Even though Flake and Graham are pro-amnesty, you would think they would be capable of voting to stop Obama’s attempt to eliminate Congress while consolidating power on the issue within the White House—something Lynch supports by the way.

Kirk’s RINO campaign doesn’t end with the Lynch vote, however. After a high-profile Democrat announced a plan to take his Senate seat, Kirk came out swinging; not at the Democrat, but at fellow Republican Mike Pence for signing the Indiana Religious Freedom Restoration Act.

“We should not enshrine bigotry under the cover of religion. It’s not just bad practice, it’s un-American,” he said in his statement.

Maybe Kirk is convinced that an out-of-bounds condemnation of religious liberty will win him a few of those blue-state votes, but it begs the question: what is un-American about religious freedom? Isn’t religious freedom the very essence of our existence?

Back to the Lynch confirmation. It’s important to remember that one of the reasons given for the feckless leadership we’ve come to know and expect from Mitch McConnell and his crew was because the GOP lacked the 60 votes necessary to end a filibuster. But that doesn’t apply in this situation.

There are enough Rs in the Senate to stop Lynch’s confirmation. But that’s not going to happen, because unfortunately, the R doesn’t stand for Republican anymore. It stands for RINO and recreant. For the liberals out there, recreant means “coward” or “traitor.”
