Reaganomics vs. Obamanomics

Government is not the solution to the problem, government is the problem. – Ronald Reagan

It’s no mystery that government spending is out of control.

It’s no mystery that government is too big.

And it’s no mystery that America will fail if this continues, which is the motivation behind a new movie coming out this fall.

Two versions of the American dream now stand in sharp contrast. One views the money you earned as yours and best allocated by you. It champions the traditional American dream, which has played out millions of times through generations of Americans, of improving one’s lot in life and the entrepreneurial spirit of daring to dream and to build big.

The other believes that the federal government, using taxpayers’ money, should play a major role in leveling out the nation’s wealth to guarantee outcomes to all, regardless of effort.

How America chooses between these two views of the role of government, at this crucial juncture, will have everything to do with the future we and our children and our children’s children will enjoy.

In light of House Democrat Majority Leader Steny Hoyer’s announcment this morning that the ruling majority will not pass a budget resolution this year, the time is now for us to take action.

Progressives on Capitol Hill aren’t interested in spending less. In fact, since they are only planning a temporary extension of the Bush tax cuts (just until the end of the year), they obviously plan to tax the daylights out of America after the November elections.

“As the House and Senate debate what to do with the expiring Bush tax cuts in the coming weeks, we need to have a serious discussion about their implications for our fiscal outlook, including whether we can afford to permanently extend them before we have a real plan for long-term deficit reduction,”said Hoyer, a Maryland Democrat.

“Raising revenue is part of the deficit solution, too.”

If you agree with me that the tax and spend policies of Obama and his Progressive buddies in Congress are destroying the free enterprise, capitalistic system that has made America the greatest country in the history of the world, then I invite you to be a part of this project by signing the Debt Free America petition.

Let us be sure that those who come after will say of us in our time, that in our time we did everything that could be done. We finished the race; we kept them free; we kept the faith. – Ronald Reagan
