Obama would rather pay ISIS than kill them

Obama ISIS Strategy

After recently admitting that his administration didn’t have a “complete strategy” to deal with the rising threat of ISIS, Obama announced a new executive order that establishes several new policies in an effort to make his policy more complete, specifically when kidnapped Americans are involved.

Don’t get too excited—he isn’t launching a new military strategy to wipe out ISIS. Instead, his directive will establish a new hostage response group within the U.S. government to serve as the middle man in negotiations between terrorists and the families of hostages taken by terrorist groups.

His plan, announced during a White House press conference yesterday, was an effort to make clear that families of hostages will take priority from now on.

“(We’re) making it clear our top priority is the safe return of hostages. We are reaffirming the U.S. government will not make concessions, such as paying ransoms to terror groups holding hostages … (which) risks endangering more Americans. At the same time, we are clarifying our policy does not prevent communications with our hostage takers.”

Wouldn’t it be nice if our Commander-in-Chief had a different top priority? For instance, it would seem to me that if we eliminated the hostage takers, getting hostages home safely would be a non-issue, right? However, I do have to admit that he told the truth about how the U.S. doesn’t pay ransoms. Releasing terrorists from Guantanamo in exchange for hostages is clearly his preferred method. Which I guess provides some clarification for this new policy. After all, he’s just about out of prisoners to trade.

I’m also a little confused on why government paid ransoms endanger more Americans while ransoms paid by families of the hostages apparently don’t. Actually, it’s not all that confusing. Obama is an Islamic appeaser who refuses to acknowledge the existence of radical Islamic terrorism—he won’t even use the word “terrorism”—therefore he has no plan to eliminate the very real threat they pose. And with no threat from America to worry about, terrorists are free to take hostages for ransom to finance the expansion of their Jihad against the West.

That is, of course, if they don’t blow their heads off with explosives first.

Obama concluded his remarks with a bold warning meant to relay the fact that he’s no patsy:

“Our reach is long (and) justice will be done.”

Shhh… Did you hear that? That’s the sound of ISIS laughing all the way to the bank.
