The official beginning to this year’s hurricane season is June 1, 2009. To celebrate the occasion, the Obama Administration’s director of FEMA will send out eviction notices to those Katrina victims who are still being housed by the temporary housing set up by the compassion-less Bush Administration.
In his acceptance speech after winning the Democrat nomination for President, the chosen one made a brief reference to the Bush Administration’s slow initial response to Hurricane Katrina in explaining why his administration would be more responsive to the needs of everyday Americans.
“We are more compassionate than a government that lets veterans sleep on our streets and families slide into poverty; that sits on its hands while a major American city drowns before our eyes.” – Barack Obama
Yeah, this FEMA decision is a great way to show your compassion, Barry. So tell me, what’s changed since you made this statement less than a year ago? Are we now a less compassionate government?
How can the administration that is paying the mortgage for just about every American who borrowed more money than they had any business borrowing, now turn a deaf ear to the plight of people who actually DO need some help? Don’t these same people who had NOTHING to do with losing their home deserve some of the billions you’ve given the likes of Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, AIG, General Motors, Chrysler, etc, etc, etc….?
Hey, wait a minute.
Aren’t most of the Katrina victims located in Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama? Aren’t those considered “Red” states? Didn’t the anointed one lose each of those states? Aren’t the governors of each of those states Republican? I think I understand this now….
Could it be that his “compassion” has limits when the people needing the help are located in states where he doesn’t have a snowball’s chance of winning in the 2012 election? Is he holding some sort of a grudge against those voters? Did he make this decision in the hope of embarrassing the Republican leadership in those states? Maybe these people are just a bunch of selfish capitalists who don’t understand the importance of sacrifice for the greater good.
Or has his compassion simply run out?
Naw, the annointed one is above “partisan” politics, right? He’d never resort to playing Washington-styled “gotcha” games for personal benefit, would he? And we all know that no mere mortal is capable of the level of compassion he demonstrates every time he stands in front of his teleprompter reading great words of comfort to we mere mortals.
We know that’s true because he said it was.
