Nancy Pelosi: Insuring the uninsured has nothing to do with Obamacare

 Obamacare enrollment great

This is the kind of response we’ve come to expect from a feel-good, we know what’s good for you better than you know what’s good for you, liberal after one of their liberty-stealing, budget-busting laws fail to work out according to plan.

Check out this tidbit from Nancy “pass it to see what’s in it” Pelosi during a press conference following the announcement by Obama that 7.1 million Americans—a number he pulled out of his derriere—had enrolled in Obamacare.

“Madam Leader, isn’t the real measure of success, not the raw number who signed up, but how many of those who signed up were not insured before?” a reporter asked Pelosi at a news conference on Tuesday.

“No, that’s not — the measure is twofold,” Pelosi responded. “The message is how many people have access to health care — quality, affordable health care and insurance.”

Pelosi, whose use of the word “affordable” is almost Orwellian—she refuses to use the word Obamacare, even though it has been embraced by Obama himself—went on to conclude:

“So what this legislation has done is it will save a trillion dollars over the lifetime of the bill, and it will — it will reduce costs for people. And even if they pay a little more in some cases, they’re getting much better care. So this is about quality and affordability,” she repeated — “and the affordability, that’s why it has that name.”

So, according to Pelosi, insuring the uninsured has nothing to do with Obamacare’s success, even though she said the exact opposite when she hammered down the gavel on its passage. Instead, it was to “reduce costs” (even though costs are skyrocketing) and provide better care when costs do rise (even though doctors and hospitals are dropping out of a healthcare system that was already one of the best in the world).

“So that is what I think is the measure (of success).”

Funny what success looks like after you find out what’s in the bill.
