Mitch McConnell: Proof positive that GOP must go!

McConnell and Boehner - RINO cowards

In his final press conference of 2015, Gutless On Principles (GOP) Hall of Shame member and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell encored his hatred of the Conservative base when he warned Republican voters across America to steer clear of T.E.A. Party candidates because, according to him, they can’t win in the 2016 elections.

The way you have a good election year is to nominate people who can win. What we did in 2014 was [sic] we didn’t have more Christine O’Donnell’s, Sharron Angles, Richard Mourdocks or Todd Akins. The people that were nominated [last year] were electable.”

While there were questionable candidates in 2014, there were also successful ones such as Dave Brat, who upset a member of John Boehner’s crew, Eric Cantor in Virginia. And it could be argued that the T.E.A. Party made weak Republicans stronger by facing primary challengers.

But perhaps more significant to the Republican victories in 2014 was an uprising by Conservatives against Obama, and a promise by the McConnell establishment to advance an agenda designed to stop his radical agenda.

But McConnell wasn’t finished. He also made sure to extend his warning to those of us simply too dumb to know as much as he does about such things by using the same standard when selecting a presidential candidate:

“We’d like to have a nominee who can carry purple states because unless the nominee for president can carry purple states, he’s not going to get elected.”

Yeah, I’ll always remember how that was the key to victory for President John McCain and President Mitt Romney.

Of course Mickey is right in a way. The establishment types were more electable in 2014, but let’s get serious here. Just about everyone who didn’t wear the Obama Democrat label lost because the establishment Republicans were running on a platform promising to stop Obama’s radical agenda.

Actually, it’s this last point by the Coward from Kentucky that proves how it’s time to blow up the GOP. And we need look no further than the recently passed omnibus for evidence.

As I wrote last week, the budget deal created by Paul Ryan and Nancy Pelosi fully funds Obama’s primary agenda items (their words) and has been the cause of celebration in the Democrat ranks, as we see in this statement from Chuck Schumer (D-NY):

“If you would have told me this year that we’d be standing here celebrating the passage of an omnibus bill with no poison pill riders, at higher levels above sequester than even the president requested, I wouldn’t have believed it. But here we are. This bill is a great victory for the principles Democrats stand for.

There are a few Republican candidates for president that McConnell might find a good fit for his purple state strategy, including: John Kasich, Jeb Bush, Marco Rubio, Chris Christie and Lindsey Graham.

In a piece on this topic by Tom Tancredo yesterday, he concluded with these words:

There is work to be done. Conservatives and constitutionalists must find and support good candidates to replace the current congressional leadership — in Republican primaries where that is possible, or as independent challengers where necessary.

To those who warn that this will lead to loss of the House majority, there is an easy answer. What difference does it make?

Sounds about right to me!
