Near the end of his propaganda speech, also known as the State of the Union Address, Barack Hussein Obama said the following:
“I want our actions to tell every child, in every neighborhood, you’re life matters.”
Beautiful sounding words, aren’t they? Unfortunately, the are just another round of the political platitudes we’ve come to know from one of the most pro-abortion presidents in American history. Today, as we remember the Supreme Court decision 42 years ago that legalized the murder of millions of unborn babies, Obama couldn’t be further from creating an environment that treats every child as if their lives matter.
And he has a long track record that proves it.
- In 1997, Obama voted in the Illinois Senate against SB 230, a bill designed to prevent partial-birth abortions.
- In 2001, he was the only Illinois senator who rose to speak against a bill that would have protected babies who survived a late-term abortion.
- As a U.S. Senator, Obama consistently voted to expand embryonic stem cell research, and he voted against requiring minors who get out-of-state abortions to notify their parents.
- His voting record in the Senate was so pro-abortion that the National Abortion Rights Action League (NARAL) gave him a perfect 100% score in 2005, 2006, and 2007.
- In 2008, candidate Obama stated that he would teach his daughters values and morals. But if they made a mistake, he didn’t want them to be “punished with a baby.”
Now, as Congress prepares the Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act—a bill that would prohibit abortions after 20 weeks, which is the threshold after which unborn babies feel pain—we learned that just hours before Tuesday night’s SOTU Address, the White House made it pretty clear that Obama will veto the bill if it makes it to his desk.
According to one of the bill’s sponsors, Rep. Trent Franks (R-AZ), the bill could save tens of thousands of lives:
“More than 18,000 ‘very late term’ abortions are performed every year on perfectly healthy unborn babies in America. These are innocent and defenseless children who can not only feel pain, but who can survive outside of the womb in most cases, and who are tortuously killed.
What a great way to say “your life matters.” Eh?

The pedal-to-the-medal rate this attack has taken is breathtaking, if not terrifying. But today’s date on the calendar reminds us of one of the most devastating moments in American history, when literally millions of our fellow citizens were denied their right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
