It’s official – Democrats still control Congress

Congress leadership

From defunding Planned Parenthood to all things budget related, the Senate and the House of Representatives have failed to advance the Conservative agenda responsible for giving Mitch McConnell and John Boehner their cushy positions of power. In fact, more has been done to advance Obama’s radical agenda in the few months since these two cowards assumed their leadership positions than Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi were able to accomplish in several years.

This sentiment was recently confirmed by Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz (R-TX) to a group of reporters:

“Today, the leader in the Senate is Harry Reid because Republican leadership has said nothing will pass without Harry Reid’s support. Today, the leader of the House is Nancy Pelosi.”

Cruz made this charge after Mitch McConnell introduced a resolution on Tuesday to temporarily fund the federal government though December 11, 2015. A provision in the legislation would temporarily defund Planned Parenthood. If the Democrats filibuster the bill as expected, McConnell will do what he usually does—cave to the Democrats and Harry Reid by proposing a clean funding bill without the defunding provision, thus avoiding a shutdown on October 1.

Back in April of this year, I wrote about the success Reid was experiencing under the leadership of Mitch “Lyin’ Eyes” McConnell since the November elections. Check out this excerpt:

According to a recent story on Breitbart News: “with two minor exceptions, every single vote that has passed the U.S. Senate since the beginning of this Congress in January has passed with at lease 93% of support from Democrats.”

Despite controlling the Senate, Republicans leaders are passing bills that have more support from Democrats than Republicans. While there are bills that should have that kind of Democrat support–such as legislation in the areas of Veteran’s Affairs, anti-pornography, and human trafficking–Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has helped the Democrats pass funding for Obama’s unconstitutional executive amnesty, pass the deficit-exploding “doc fix” for Medicare, and confirm Obama’s liberal judicial and administrative nominees such as Loretta Lynch.

Needless to say, Harry Reid is pretty happy with the way things have panned out under McConnell:

“While Republicans have done nothing to create jobs and help the middle class, on other topics like passing clean funding for Homeland Security and confirming Loretta Lynch, Senator McConnell has done the right thing by bringing bills and nominations to the floor that Democrats can support,” Harry Reid’s spokesman said Adam Jentleson told Breitbart News. “Democrats hope this trend will continue.”

Mitch McConnell vowed to repeal Obamacare “root and branch,” to use spending bills to defund bad policies, and to deny confirmation on any nominee for Attorney General who didn’t oppose executive amnesty. We voted for McConnell and other Republicans because they promised to use their new majority in the Senate to stand up and oppose Obama’s radical agenda.

And that was just from January to April. Sadly, things have been worse since then.
