Gorka, McMaster, and Trump’s leftist approach to radical Islam

Earlier this month, I wrote a piece about the effort being made by Frank J. Gaffney at the Center for Security Policy and their call for H.R. McMaster to be terminated for “disloyal and subversive behavior” and why, unfortunately, Trump isn’t likely to fire him.

In his complaint against the National Security Advisor, Gaffney contends that McMaster has “openly opposed Mr. Trump on ‘radical Islamic terrorism’, Syria, Qatar, Iran, Russia, and the Muslim Brotherhood.” Now, in the aftermath of the resignation of Sebastian Gorka as the Deputy Assistant to President Trump, we see that Mr. Gaffney could be on to something.

In his resignation letter, Gorka mentions Trump’s Afghanistan speech as one of the reasons he was leaving due to the omission of the words “radical Islam” or “radical Islamic terrorism.” However, in a recent interview with the Jerusalem Post, Gorka specifically targets McMaster as the man pulling the strings concerning Middle East policy and how the Trump administration is treating the issue of Islamic terrorism.

McMaster “sees the threat of Islam through an Obama lens, meaning that religion has nothing to do with the war we’re in.”

Gorka further stated that McMaster was not anti-Jewish–a point I strongly disagree with based on numerous statements McMaster has made concerning Israel and Trump’s Obama-esque policy decisions regarding the Middle East nation since becoming president.

Taken as a whole, these claims against McMaster make a lot of sense, and they help explain Trump’s embrace of the “fake nation” of Palestine, his evolving view of Islam, and his betrayal concerning his promises to Israel.

By the way, this “let’s go easy on the whole ‘radical Islam’ talk” attitude is also shared by Secretary of State Rex Tillerson who, over the weekend, defended McMaster and Trump against Gorka’s claims. Using talking points that sounded like they were copied from Obama or former Secretary of State John Kerry, Tillerson made terrorism a generic term as he avoided using the words “radical Islam.”

“Terrorism has manifested itself in many types of organizations. The president has charged us to develop policies and tactics both diplomatically and militarily to attack terrorism in its many forms, wherever it exists in the world, and wherever it might present a threat to the homeland or Americans anywhere. This means that we need to develop techniques that are global in their nature.”

In light of these facts, it’s clear that McMaster should be terminated. But Trump won’t get rid of the National Security Advisor because they’re both liberals.
