Gadsden flag and the liberal-left’s politically-correct revisionist history

Gadsden flagLeft-wing Democrats have a well-established track record of rewriting history when the facts of the past conflict with their political agenda of the present — particularly when it comes to issues of sexual orientation and race.

Harvey Milk, the first openly homosexual candidate elected to public office as San Francisco City Commissioner, was also a pedophile who preyed on underaged, drug-addicted boys. But, of course, that would interfere with the LGBT agenda that claims sexual deviance is normal. So, bada-bing, bada-boom, history is rewritten and Harvey Milk becomes a hero of the movement; he gets his own state holiday, his own postage stamp, and his name will soon adorn a US Navy battleship.

Margaret Sanger founded Planned Parenthood primarily for the advancement of eugenics in order to reduce, and eventually eliminate, those she considered undesirable, such as the handicapped and black Americans. This fact interferes with the left’s pro-abortion position, so history is rewritten to make Margaret Sanger the hero of women’s health. Planned Parenthood receives the adulation of baby-killers around the globe, and they bank billions in taxpayer funds.

The rebel flag—a.k.a. Confederate flag—was never the official flag of the Confederate army. There were several that were, most noticeably the Stars and Bars. But the rebel flag was used to identified Confederate army units, most notably Robert E. Lee’s Army of Northern VA. While slavery was indeed an issue during the Civil War, the rebel flag never represented the South. But in the aftermath of a shooting in Charleston, SC, where nine people at a black church were murdered by a self-avowed racist, the history of the flag was rewritten to justify demands that its presence be removed from society. Even in the instances of historical re-enactments.

Pennsylvania State Representative, Vanessa Lowery Brown of Philadelphia, who successfully had a rebel flag removed from a historical display at the PA state capital, also wants it to be removed from reenactments of perhaps the greatest battle of the Civil War—The Battle of Gettysburg. Her reason for such a demand is that the flag’s presence fails to tell the flag’s history of racial hatred.

Now the politically-correct left-wing isn’t rewriting history, they’re ignoring it altogether.

The Gadsden flag, the yellow flag showing a coiled snake with the words “Don’t Tread on Me,” originated during the revolutionary war and was directed at England. Nothing racial, unless you’re Obama’s Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. A complaint has been filed claiming that the flag is a “historical indicator of white resentment against blacks stemming largely from the TEA Party.” Why did the EEOC decide to hear the complaint? Their response states that even though the flag originated “in a non-racial context … it also has since been sometimes interpreted to convey racially tinged messages in some contexts.”

Under Obama and left-wing Democrats, PC agendas are a great thing. And they’re even better when you ignore or rewrite history to advance them.
