Establishment GOP could win if they were more like Ted Cruz

Cruz fight - GOP surrender

Surging Republican presidential candidate Sen. Ted Cruz is laying out what would be the most aggressive first day in office ever for a new president, starting with the elimination of “every single illegal and unconstitutional” executive action taken by President Obama.

In an epilogue to his father Rafael Cruz’s upcoming autobiography, the Texas senator also said that he would rip up Obama’s controversial deal with Iran, open an investigation into Planned Parenthood’s abortion practices, end the IRS’s “persecution of religious liberty,” and shift the U.S. Embassy in Israel to Jerusalem.

“All of that is on day one. It is an example of how quickly things can change,” said Cruz. “The left, and the media (who are in cahoots), try to convince us that nothing can change. They want us to give up. But strong presidential leadership, backed by the American people, can usher in dramatic change.”

In the interest of full disclosure, let me say that I’m a fan of Ted Cruz. but I’m not endorsing him or any other GOP candidate at this time. So, why am I sharing this with you? Because the establishment Republicans could learn a few things from the Cruz camp on how to win next November.

Instead, they are more concerned about protecting their collective backsides, as we see in this little tidbit from Reince Priebus. In a recent radio interview on New York’s AM-970, the Republican National Committee Chairman shared how the GOP will have a “tough” time holding on the its majority in the Senate in 2016:

The Senate is important. It’s very critical and it’s always tough to hold the Senate, but I think we’re doing everything we can to do that. Our candidates are good in the battleground states that they’re in, and that’s the key — having candidates that are in tune with their states and that are unique to their states so you can win in a tough environment, you win in a presidential year, which is always harder because when turnout is through the roof, it’s always a little bit more unpredictable.”

And there you have it. The GOP is in danger of losing because they lack the type of focus and direction we see in Ted Cruz. In fact, the party establishment, along with some help from the left-wing media, is actively working on destroying Cruz, favoring a McCain or Romney type of candidate, such as Marco Rubio or Jeb Bush.

As usual, the spineless liars passing themselves off as GOP leaders miss the point. If they lose the Senate, it won’t be because of high voter turnout; it will be because Washington has too many progressive posers in the party. At the conclusion of his day-one plan, Cruz said:

“Our country is in crisis. I am convinced, it is now or never. There comes a point where the hole is too deep, the debt is too great, our liberties are too receded, and there is no going back.”

We are at that point now, my friends, and the voters know it. That means that it will be those of us who understand that Ted Cruz is correct in his evaluation of America’s condition who will decide the winners and losers in 2016.

The question is: will the GOP figure it out in time?
