Democrats love big money donors too!

George Soros back pocket

Democrats used the 2014 elections to attack wealthy donors who supported Republicans such as the Koch brothers, but a new Associated Press report indicates that it’s the Democrats who really have the big money behind them.

Some information included in the report:

  • Among the top 100 individual donors to political groups, more than half gave primarily to Democrats and their allies. Among groups that funneled more than $100,000 to allies, the top of the list tilts overwhelmingly toward Democrats.
  • The two biggest super PACs of 2014 were the Senate Majority PAC and House Majority PAC—both groups back Democrats.
  • In all, the top 10 individual donors to outside groups injected almost $128 million into this year’s elections, with Democrat-leaning groups collecting $91 million of it.
  • Among the 183 groups that wrote checks of $100,000 or more to another group, Democrats enjoyed a 3-to-1 cash advantage.

Do you recall the global warming publicity stunt held by senate Democrats back in March? That was a direct response to a promise by environmental-activist billionaire Tom Steyer to fund anyone supporting his radical global warming agenda. He gave nearly $74 million to his super PAC (NextGen Climate Action) and other Democrat-leaning groups in 2014.  He was the top source of donations in 2014. The big money in Washington flows to both parties, and a discussion on how it affects elections is worthy of discussion. But the next time you hear a liberal scream about the big money being funnelled to Republicans and Republican causes, know that the hypocritical Democrats depend on the big bucks too!
