It’s time for some Conservative Comedy at the Strident Conservative. As I do every Friday, I bring you some of the best Conservative political satire on the internet, sure to provide a good laugh to begin your weekend.
In a landmark decision, the US Patent and Trademark Office has decided to retroactively revoke many trademarks for the Washington Redskins football team on the grounds that their name and team logo are “disparaging to Native Americans.” Which is nothing to take lightly; just hearing the word “redskin” causes Elizabeth Warren’s high cheekbones to flush with anger.
The Conservative Comic at Hope n’ Change doesn’t give a rat’s rear end about either football or political correctness, but we don’t much like the idea that the Patent Office is now putting themselves in the business of regulating free speech (in this case by removing the financial value of a trademark). Nor do we like the idea of such regulation being contingent on finding someone – anyone – who feels offended. Because if that’s the new standard, we’re pretty sure we can find waaaay more people who are offended by the word “Washington” than “Redskin.”
Jodi Miller at Newsbusted provides plenty of this week on several news stories, including: the record number of unemployed in America, Wendy Davis’ recent accusations against Republicans, and the recent delivery of military equipment to police departments across America. Additional stories covered include: Boko Haram’s latest kidnapping, Obama’s recent visit to an indian reservation, the “help the poor” program MSNBC used when they paid Chelsea Clinton $600,000 for one year’s work, and the greatest success of the Obama administration to date. If it’s in the news, Jodi has something to say about it.
With the current influx of illegal immigrant children from Central America, I dug up an old episode of Insanity Island that happened to deal with the topic. In a surprising twist, it turns out that they have been on top of this for several years. Funny how in Obama’s America, the more things change the more they stay the same.
And finally, AlfonZo Rachel has something to say about the recent revelations that Planned Parenthood has been caught teaching underage kids about kinky sex. What kind of parenthood are they even planning for anymore? Hear more in this ZoNation.
