California moonbattery: Let’s replace Obamacare with single-payer healthcare

While the GOP continues to advance their fake repeal of Obamacare, the moonbats that make up the California legislature have introduced their solution to the healthcare disaster—a single-payer healthcare system, owned and operated by the state of California.

Introduced by State Senator, Ricardo Lara, the “Californians for a Healthy California Act” will provide every resident with cradle-to-grave universal healthcare coverage, regardless of income or legal status. Legal status? I think that’s code for illegal aliens.

“We’re serious about healthcare for all. We’re serious about ensuring that everyone has access to healthcare and that, you know, we determine our own fate. And, we’ve always done that, and we’re going to continue to do so when it comes to insuring that everybody has healthcare.”

It’s ironic that Lara claims that this will allow people to determine their own fate, since the very definition of single-payer removes the ability to choose when it comes to making healthcare decisions. Also ironic—I should say idiotic—is the fact that Lara is serious about healthcare, serious about access, but apparently isn’t serious about how it will be paid for. A detail noticeably absent in his proposal.

Now, if the benefits of Lara’s idea sounds familiar, it’s because it is. These are the same benefits that Obamacare was supposed to provide. But Lara has an answer for that too. He admits that the Affordable Care Act expanded coverage but that it was too expensive and excluded illegal immigrants.

“We have reached a pivotal moment where there’s a threat to healthcare. I felt it was important that we create a different narrative here in California.”

California passed this idea before back in 2006 and was vetoed by then Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. But with Governor Jerry “Moonbeam” Brown at the helm–he has supported single-payer healthcare in the past–it probably stands a good shot at becoming law if approved by the legislature.

Single-payer healthcare was the goal of Obamacare all along. If California is successful with its plan, we could see single-payer healthcare go national—a stated goal of the AFL-CIO-backed California Nurses’ Association. Another reason we could see it go national is the support we see for a single-payer system by some members in Congress and Donald Trump.

You know, there’s a movement in California to secede from the United States. I think I’ve found another reason why I’ll support them in that effort.
