Boehner is gone – On to McConnell!

Mitch McConnell wanted poster

Hallelujah! John Boehner is stepping down! Now it’s time to re-channel our efforts and kick Mitch McConnell’s sorry butt out of his cushy position as the leader in the Senate. Make no mistake! Mickey is just as hostile—if not more so—toward the Conservative movement.

Before last year’s election giving McConnell and Boehner a GOP Congress that they promised would bring an end to Obama’s radical, freedom-killing, socialist agenda, McConnell had already cuts a series of deals with Barry to fund Obamacare, raise the debt ceiling, and raise taxes. During the 2014 elections in 2014, McConnell openly declared war on Conservatives and T.E.A. Party Republicans.

Since his selection as the Majority Leader in January McConnell has given Obama pretty much everything he wanted, including: fully funding executive amnesty, confirming Loretta “Eric Holder 2.0” Lynch as attorney general, working to rescue the Export-Import Bank, dropping the ball with the Iranian nuke deal, and doing all he can to fully fund Planned Parenthood’s baby-slaughtering operations in the current budget battle.

Mickey’s established record has even prompted a senior Republican official to call for McConnell’s resignation. Calling the Kentucky senator “a good and honorable man”—a sentiment I would strongly disagree with—Roger Villere, the chairman of the the Louisiana GOP, told the Washington Times:

“I’ve worked for 12 years as chairman to build this party, and I just don’t want to see it all go down the drain because the [leaders] aren’t willing to fight for what we believe… Our base is demanding we do something or they’re going to leave us.”

Villere’s made this statement after posting a message on Facebook: “McConnell needs to resign!!” In a series of statements he made to explain where Mickey and Boehner missed the boat, he went on to say:

“Mr. McConnell could have suspended consideration of confirmations for all presidential appointees, except for those who are essential to national security, until the president rescinded his unconstitutional executive action on amnesty.”

“This would have been a constitutionally appropriate response to the overreach of the executive branch. It would have transformed the political environment, greatly encouraged Republican donors and grass-roots activists, and positioned us to refuse to confirm replacements for any Supreme Court openings that might occur during the remainder of the Obama administration.”

“Not trying to repeal Obamacare, not defunding Planned Parenthood, not trying to stop illegal immigration… That is what Republicans ran on and once they were elected they did not follow up with their promises.”

Boehner’s resignation is something Conservatives can take great pride and pleasure in, but it’s only the beginning. We must now redirect our efforts and do all we can to make sure McConnell does the same thing.
