George Pataki: Social conservatives are a “distraction”

Former NY governor George Pataki is about to announce his intention to add his name to the list of Republicans seeking to be the GOP nominee for president in 2016. Just as you would expect from an East Coast Republican, he wants to make sure he distances himself from the base of the party by attacking, so true to his liberal roots, he is launching his campaign by attacking social conservatives. In a new ad airing in New Hampshire, Pataki is suggesting that the preservation–restoration is probably more accurate–of traditional values is a “distraction” from more pressing dangers. In an…

General Patton would hate Mitch McConnell

George Patton - lead me

General George Patton once said: “Lead me, follow me, or get out of my way.” I wish he was alive today so that he could deliver that message in person to Gutless On Principles (GOP) Hall of Shame member Mitch McConnell. In a recent Elizabethtown Rotary Club meeting, McConnell demonstrated his total lack of ability to lead, follow, or get out of the way when he told attendees that he expects to maintain but not grow the Republican majority in the U.S. Senate, calling the chances of gaining seats “pretty slim” because Republicans are defending 24 seats while the Democrats…

Hillary Clinton continues to say absolutely nothing about absolutely anything on the campaign trail, which is starting to make Hope n’ Change wonder if she realizes that political candidates, unlike Trappist monks and Lois Lerner, are not required to take a vow of silence. Although if we were in Hillary’s sensible shoes, we’d be keeping our yap shut too.…

Obama to Coast Guard grads: Forget ISIS – fight global warming

May 21, 2015
Global warming larger threat than terrorism

Last week, the Islamic State (ISIS) took over the Iraqi city of Ramadi, a city that American soldiers died to capture years ago. Before that was the fall of Mosul, and the next major city on the ISIS to-do list Baghdad. Meanwhile, Christians are being systematically exterminated from the country. So it shouldn’t come as a big surprise that White House press secretary Josh Earnest recently declared the Obama’s ISIS strategy — Obama once referred to the Islamic State as the Junior Varsity team — an overall “success.” With those pesky issues in his rear view mirror, Obama is now…
