Bad Day At The White House? Just Blame FOX News
Posted By The Strident Conservative on October 12, 2009
In an interview over the weekend with CNN, where she was defending the questionable awarding of the Nobel Peace Prize to her boss, Anita Dunn, White House Communications Director, made the claim on behalf of the messiah that FOX News is nothing more than “a wing of the Republican Party” and could never be considered a real “news network like CNN is.”
To quote one of my favorite movies, “Somebody call the waaaaaaaaaaaaaaahmbulance.”
I guess Chris Wallace of FOX News Sunday had it right when he called the people who work for the chosen one “the biggest bunch of crybabies (he’s) worked with in (his) 30 years in Washington.”
Besides providing evidence of the chosen one’s inability to deal with ANY form of criticism, Ms. Dunn couldn’t have been more obvious in her critique of the most popular news network on television. In the spirit of FOX News, I would like to provide some “fair and balanced” observations of the administration’s accusations using my own “Bogus Statement” – or “B.S.” test.
“What I think is fair to say about Fox — and certainly it’s the way we view it — is that it really is more a wing of the Republican Party. They take their talking points, put them on the air; take their opposition research, put them on the air. And that’s fine. But let’s not pretend they’re a news network the way CNN is.”
B.S. – According to the Pew Research Center, 40 percent of Fox News stories on Obama in the last six weeks of the campaign were negative. Similarly, 40 percent of Fox News’ stories on Obama’s Republican opponent, Sen. John McCain, were negative.
This compares to CNN where there was a 22-point disparity in the percentage of negative stories on Obama (39 percent) and McCain (61 percent). The disparity was even greater at MSNBC, where just 14 percent of Obama stories were negative, compared to a whopping 73 percent of McCain stories — a spread of 59 points.
I see what she means about CNN though. After all, none of the other networks took the time to “fact check” a skit done by the hard news people at Saturday Night Live last week. But then, that’s what you get from a “real” news network, isn’t it?
“(FOX News) is ‘opinion journalism masquerading as news’.”
B.S.- FOX has opinion journalists just like CNN, MSNBC, and all other networks. Is the Obama administration so immature that it doesn’t know the difference between opinion personalities (Glenn Beck and Sean Hannity) and news personalities (Chris Wallace and Bret Baier)? I guess Wallace had good reason to call them crybabies.
“If you were a FOX News viewer in the fall election, what you would have seen is that the biggest stories and the biggest threats facing America were (sic) a guy named Bill Ayers and something called A.C.O.R.N.”
B.S.- Actually, the biggest stories and the biggest threats that conservatives brought up was Obama’s lack of experience, his affiliations with radical groups (many of whom are serving on his staff), his socialist positions on the economy (taxes, spending and social policies), and his positions on the war and national security.
Of course, when you bring those concerns up now, you’re branded a racist. Does that mean that FOX News is a racist network? Stay tuned….
And I’m not sure, but isn’t it A.C.O.R.N. that is on trial in many states for various types of fraud? Aren’t they the same organization that Congress recently de-funded due to illegal activities caught on tape, which featured prostitution, sex trafficking, tax evasion, and money laundering?
“(The President will) go on FOX because he engages with ideological opponents.”
B.S.- And yet, he refused to appear on FOX News Sunday with Chris Wallace during his healthcare blitzkrieg a few weeks ago. It has nothing to do with “arguing with the opposition,” but rather the fact that Wallace asks real questions of politicians. Just ask Bill Clinton, who got bent out of shape about being challenged over his failure to capture Usama Bin Laden.
By the way, Fox News was informed by the White House that Obama would grant no interviews to the channel until at least 2010.
Barry doesn’t appear on any news show where he doesn’t control the content. Otherwise, he might have to tell us something more than where he and Michelle ate dinner last night.
The Victim-in-Chief loves to play the role of the innocent “mainstream” politician who would love to bring change to America if only those pesky right-wing racists and FOX News would leave him alone and play fair.
Instead of always looking for someone to blame when his policies and ideas are unpopular, maybe Barry could learn a little something from one of his predecessors, Harry Truman, who kept an important reminder on his desk every day….
